Classical Queers
Fancy a bit of culture, but also a hefty slice of queer history? On 15 October, Johannes Wirix-Speetjens will delve into the lives of iconic queer artists such as Freddie Mercury, Peter Tchaikovsky, and Dusty Springfield. In this Dutch lecture, Johannes illustrates with stories and music how the queer experience has been reflected in art throughout the centuries, and how those echoes continue to resonate in the music we hear and sing along with today.
While searching for his own identity, Johannes weaves these historical stories with his experiences in the 21st century. Let Classical Queers inspire you in your own quest for love, self-expression, and freedom.
